A New Wunderverse Release!

Add Wandering Monsters to your story, then in each location simply specify how likely it is (0-100% chance) any one of them might appear!

Missions can be triggered anywhere in an adventure to help move players through the story.

The next big update to Wunderverse (version 5.5) is rolling out into the App Store today! Thanks to everyone for all your great ideas and feedback. Some pretty exciting new features have been added in this version…

wandering monsters!

A great (and easy) new way to add creatures in your adventures that pop up randomly and cause havoc for your players! Learn more about them here.

The new Battle Mode in action. Fight updates pop up along the bottom. Attack your opponent and see their health using the banner along the top.

new battle mode!

A fun new turn-based battle system has been fully integrated into Wunderverse, letting your players fight monsters and other scary story characters.

Learn more about it (and Wandering Monsters) here.

missions!

Send your players on missions to help guide them through your adventure. Simply add a New Mission Outcome anywhere in your story where you want a new mission to begin for the player. Then add a matching Mission Completed Outcome wherever (and however) the player would complete the mission.

Players can see what missions they have, and which ones they’ve completed, under the Shooting Stars button in the upper-left of the story viewer.

custom story events

Custom Location Events and Custom Player Events were added in version 5.3 that gave story builders the ability to trigger custom outcome events per location and per player. Now you can add Custom Story Events at the story level that you can triggered from anywhere. This gives you a great way to set up common, universal outcomes that you can re-use throughout your adventure.

The new Prompt for Input outcome lets you prompt your player for words, phrases, or commands, and then you can produce any outcomes you like based on what they typed.

new “prompt for input” outcome

Prompt your players to type in a word, phrase, or command. This great new outcome gives you the ability to set up a list of words or phrases you would expect the player to respond with. Then, like any other event in Wunderverse, you can produce whatever outcomes based on whatever conditions you wish!

custom weapon and armor objects

You now have the option to set up any object in your story as a weapon or armor with their own damage or defense potential. Just in time for the new Battle Mode and Wandering Monsters!

When a player Examines a Container Object, the description includes what’s currently inside of it. Each of the items inside can be tapped on and interacted with by the player.

container objects!

You’ve asked for it, you got it! Any object in your story can now be a container for holding other objects. This new feature comes complete with a new Put Something Inside event that you can react to when the player attempts to put something inside a container, and a new This Container Holds an Object condition for checking to see if the container has what you expect!

what’s next?

As always, we’re constantly working to make Wunderverse even better. A big part of that is listening to your feedback. So please keep those great ideas coming!
